Superior Small Lodging's Code of Ethics
General Policy Statement
Superior Small Lodging Association is committed to conduct business ethically and in accordance with all applicable laws; to adhere to standards of quality and service; and to promote policies through education, communications and facility reviews. In simple terms, this means members are committed to the highest standards of professional practice and will:
Founded in 1989, Superior Small Lodging began as a search for quality among small lodgings to discerning travelers. Today, our more than 500 Small Hotels, Inns and Bed & Breakfasts are distinguished in large part due to personalized attention, selfless innkeeping, courteous hospitality, and professional service. With us, you will be remembered by your name - not by your room number. You will be greeted and assisted by the owner - not an associate manager. You will be treated to special touches designed to make your stay more refreshing - not the sameness of other hotels.
You can feel comfortable in knowing that our lodgings are truly designations of quality. Our members participate in a voluntary, annual property review process that focuses on the general conditions of a lodging's exterior and interior, safety aspects, guest room, bathroom and kitchen conditions, guest services and front desk operations. Our acceptance criteria are rigid (see code of ethics), so you can feel confident knowing that the lodging you choose will meet with the most important approval of all - yours!
